SRWD recognizes April as Water Conservation Month.  Support all water conservation measures.

SRWMD:  Lawn watering:  Two days a week is permissible effective Sunday March 10 marks the beginning  of Daylight Savings Time.  Use your water wisely and conserve our precious resource.

We had the ground breaking for the new waste water management plant April 17th, 2012.  See photos of the plant construction and sewer lines installation at the Sewer Department drop down.

Please note: For dwellings that have not been connected to our city water for the last 25 years.  This is the year that you will have to connect to our city water system according to our agreement with rural development.  If our city water lines run past your property and you have had the exemption for the last 25 years this is the year that exemption runs out. If our city water lines do not go by your property you may still be exempt from connecting until the time they do.

The city now has a Community Center that can be rented out for events like weddings, receptions, birthdays, clubs like the Garden Club,  or Scouting. Just call city hall to make arrangements and reserve your date.

Our Jewel on the Suwannee, Fanning Springs Historical Park, has secured a competitive Grant  to build a dock and a restroom down by the river.  The restrooms will be built after we have our city sewer in place.
 
Really great news.  the new College of Central Florida will be building in our service area just south of our city and we will be supplying them with city water and sewer.
 
Many wonderful things will be coming to Fanning Springs in the near future and we need to be ahead of the curve to support these new ventures.
